About

Mr. Morgan received a J.D. degree from Saint John's University School of Law in 1998 and an M.S. in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1993.  Before becoming a patent attorney, Mr. Morgan worked for several years as a patent examiner at the United States Patent & Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications in Class 705 (business methods).  Mr. Morgan also has over a decade experience as a computer programmer for a Fortune 100 company.

During his career, Mr. Morgan has been associated with several major law firms, including the national law firm of Quarles & Brady, LLP; Oliff & Berridge, LLP in Alexandria VA; F. Chau & Associates in East Meadow, NY; and Lowenstein Sandler, PC in Roseland, NJ.  He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and is a member of the Arizona State Bar and New York State Bar.

Unlike many patent attorneys who do work for individual inventors, small and medium sized companies and start-ups, Mr. Morgan has substantial experience drafting patent applications for large, Fortune 500 companies, as well as for many major research labs.  Thus, the client is able to benefit from this experience and be treated on par with the larger companies.  A partial list of companies for which Mr. Morgan has done patent work:

 AT&T
Brother Industries
Chase Bank
Fuji
International Business Machines
JP Morgan
Siemens Corp.
Visa International
Xerox

Additionally, Mr. Morgan has knowledge and experience in all aspects of intellectual property law, including trademarks, trade secrets, copyright law, negotiating / licensing intellectual property, domain name issues, IP Audits, due diligence (including mergers and acquisitions involving IP), and much more.
